So, as agreed, everyone has moved on one month for 2018/2019. In 2020 we then move on again.  Sue and Penny have just one month these 2 years, as have Angela & Katy so perhaps next year they could swap in for a 2nd one to let someone else who needs it have a break.

For those new to the rota, we clean the brasses, sweep the floor and generally dust and polish, in the vestry too please. In addition we arrange flowers in the 2 brass vases on the altar, a vase on the end of the box in front of the pulpit and a small arrangement on the window sill in the porch.  The important thing is to water the flowers mid week and remove any dead ones. As we only have a service every 2 weeks (on 2nd and 4th Sundays) it is all too easy to forget this and dead flowers are not pretty for any passing visitors.
If the linen altar cloth is dirty would you be kind enough to take it home and launder it if you are on duty and change the altar frontals when necessary, they live in the box in front of the pulpit – a list of which colour to use when is in the inf. book on the table by the entrance door & inside the vestry cupboard.

No flowers during Lent but there should be flowers again for Easter Sunday and it is lovely to have an arrangement on the box and in the porch window for the Madrigal concert (9 March) and Mothering Sunday, when we have a service (11 March). The flowers should then be removed again (take them home). We would love those who like flower arranging to do extra arrangements around the church for Easter Sunday, Harvest Festival, the Gardens Open weekend and for the Carol Service/Christmas please.

We started 2 years ago having an annual bumper clean of the church – asking everyone to lend a hand.  This is voted a good idea and with Katy co-ordinating  will be on Wed 16 May 2018 at 10am.
